Position Overview:
The company is seeking a Mid-to-Senior Level Estimator to join its estimating department. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career advancement in the heavy highway construction industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate bids and proposals for complex civil projects, collaborating closely with project managers and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support all phases of the estimating and bidding process for heavy civil projects.
- Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam Revu and manual methods.
- Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets for calculations and cost analysis.
- Direct subcontractors through vendor application and insurance requirements.
- Distribute bid documents and gather quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Enter bid quantities into HCSS estimating software.
- Assist in completing bid forms and proposal requirements.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and bid openings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in estimating heavy civil/highway projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of HCSS and Bluebeam Revu software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the organization.
