Position Overview
This is not an administrative role - it is an execution‑driven, high‑impact leadership position.
The Executive Director serves as the senior operational authority for complex, multi‑site hyperscale data center programs, responsible for:
- Accelerating commissioning and energization
- Ensuring visibility across entire project portfolios
- Maintaining financial discipline and GMP management
- Recovering distressed projects and restoring alignment
- Bridging field execution with executive‑level client expectations
This role carries the operational depth of a COO, with a focused mandate on project delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. National Program & Portfolio Leadership
- Lead multi‑site hyperscale data center programs.
- Oversee project controls, scheduling, and financial performance.
- Maintain visibility across risk, schedule, and budget metrics.
- Standardize project delivery frameworks across regions.
2. Speed‑to‑Market & Commissioning Leadership
- Direct L3-L5 commissioning strategies and startup sequencing.
- Drive workflow compression and multi‑shift execution plans.
- Accelerate energization timelines while upholding safety and quality.
- Oversee integrated systems testing and final operational turnover.
3. Financial & Contractual Oversight
- Lead GMP buyouts and contract negotiations.
- Maintain P&L accountability for major program portfolios.
- Implement value engineering and cost‑reduction strategies.
- Restore performance on delayed or at‑risk projects.
4. Executive Client Advisory
- Serve as senior liaison to hyperscale and Tier 1 operators.
- Deliver executive-level reporting and strategic guidance.
- Align program delivery with SLAs and long‑term infrastructure roadmaps.
- Support pursuit strategy and expansion of key accounts.
5. Organizational Leadership
- Mentor Area Directors and senior Project Managers.
- Build scalable systems, reporting tools, and performance dashboards.
- Strengthen internal commissioning and execution standards.
- Drive continuous improvement across national delivery teams.
Required Qualifications
- 20+ years in mission‑critical or hyperscale data center construction
- Leadership experience delivering multi‑phase campus builds (20MW-50MW+)
- Extensive commissioning experience (L3-L5)
- Executive financial oversight for $35M-$75M+ portfolios
- Proven ability to accelerate schedules and recover troubled projects
- Strong knowledge of hyperscale client environments
- Executive presence with credibility in both field and boardroom settings
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a background check
- Authorized to work in the U.S., no sponsorship needed
- 10+ years construction experience, including:
- 7+ years data center construction
- 7+ years project management
- Comfortable working in an onsite project environment
