Facility Operation Lead - Data Centers
We are seeking candidates with strong technical infrastructure backgrounds who are passionate about engineering excellence and delivering effective, sustainable solutions. You understand the challenges of deploying infrastructure at scale and have experience designing systems and platforms that set global standards for performance, availability, security, and cost. The work you do will influence processes across multiple regions.
Responsibilities
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for DC Operations and handle escalations related to critical infrastructure and facilities within the white space.
- Understand and manage design limitations and risks of the data center; regularly audit, review, and collaborate with colocation partners or service providers on maintenance programs and effectiveness.
- Manage and drive the change management process for high-risk maintenance activities in our data centers.
- Serve as the first responder onsite during incidents, coordinating with SMEs in engineering and infrastructure domains.
- Provide onsite services to support initiatives and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with customers, partner teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of standard power and cooling calculations necessary to determine capacity requirements (e.g., TIA-942, ASHRAE).
- Experience with power redundancy and its implementation in design (e.g., 2N or N+1 Distributed Redundant).
- Understanding of cooling redundancy and how concurrent maintainability is implemented in design (e.g., N+1 or N+2).
- Experience in:
- Supervising construction teams to complete data hall build-outs, including IT services coordination, power, and cooling planning.
- Influencing testing and commissioning teams to perform L1 to L5 commissioning tests to validate system design intent and resolve technical problems.
- Electrical and/or mechanical engineering systems such as generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, UPS, and electrical sub-distribution systems.
