A construction firm is hiring a Quality Manager to support a federal project located at a military base near Sacramento, California.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the lead quality representative for one or more projects, overseeing all aspects of quality assurance and control
  • Train and mentor project staff on quality procedures and standards
  • Manage quality-related processes including work planning, material handling, incident reporting, and inspections
  • Track and analyze performance metrics and quality incident reports to drive improvements
  • Conduct audits and evaluations of project quality programs, providing feedback to leadership
  • Coordinate inspections and testing with internal teams, consultants, labs, and clients
  • Develop and implement project-specific inspection and testing plans
  • Review material specifications and support specialized quality elements such as concrete mix designs and thermal control
  • Lead risk management efforts to improve efficiency and reduce exposure
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and design partners to support collaboration and issue resolution
  • Support safety initiatives to ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Monitor quality-related costs and provide feedback to optimize budgets and reduce rework

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or construction (preferred), or equivalent experience with relevant certifications (e.g., ICC, NICET)
  • Certification in Construction Quality Management from USACE/NAVFAC/NRC is preferred but not mandatory
  • Industry certifications for inspection and testing as required
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in architecture, engineering, or construction, with at least 3 years in a quality-focused role
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and time management skills
  • Familiarity with relevant standards, specifications, and industry publications
