Generator Maintenance Engineer

Seeking an experienced engineer to join a high-power electrical and mechanical engineering team. This position focuses on generator systems, lab equipment, and process improvements to support testing and innovation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead medium-to-large projects to enhance lab capabilities and maintain facilities.
  • Design, simulate, and troubleshoot generator systems and controls.
  • Develop test equipment, methods, and analyze data to support product development and quality improvements.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance and performance assessments for generators and related components.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver complex solutions aligned with standards.
  • Direct lab personnel during project execution and ensure safety compliance.
  • Prepare detailed reports, interpret test results, and communicate recommendations.
  • Coach and mentor team members to build skills and ensure knowledge retention.
  • Identify opportunities to improve test methodologies and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering field.
  • 5+ years in generator or power plant maintenance (industrial, utility, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of generator design, maintenance, controls, and instrumentation.
  • 3+ years in electrical testing of generator components.
  • Familiarity with IEEE/IEC standards and lab instrumentation.
  • Commitment to safety and precision in data collection/documentation.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and work collaboratively.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree, leadership experience, and ISO-17025 knowledge.
