Geotechnical Design Engineer
A nationally recognized engineering and construction firm is seeking a Geotechnical Design Engineer to join its geotechnical division. This role offers the opportunity to lead design efforts on complex infrastructure projects involving earth retention, deep foundations, and ground improvement systems.
You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions across transportation, energy, and commercial sectors. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple concurrent tasks.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Analyze geotechnical reports, construction drawings, and contract documents
- Develop and validate geotechnical design solutions for earth retention, piling, and ground improvement
- Perform structural and geotechnical calculations to support design proposals
- Draft construction drawings, technical exhibits, and visual documentation
- Interface with clients, design teams, and field personnel
- Support estimating, budgeting, and construction planning
- Participate in project scheduling, procurement, and cost tracking
- Provide internal reporting and contribute to bid proposals and contract management
🎓 Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering (M.S. preferred)
- 5-8 years of experience in geotechnical design and construction support
- PE license preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, L-Pile, DeepEx, Revit, CT Shoring, and similar tools
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience with estimating software (e.g., HCSS) is a plus
