A well-established geotechnical and civil engineering consulting firm in Southern California is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join its leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and client-focused professional to lead complex projects and mentor junior staff in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Position Overview:
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and executing a wide range of geotechnical projects, from initial investigation through design and construction. You'll serve as a technical expert, client liaison, and team leader, contributing to both project success and the strategic growth of the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead geotechnical investigations, analyses, and design for public and private sector projects.
- Prepare and review technical reports, design recommendations, and construction documents.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and client communications.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and mid-level staff.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client outreach.
- Ensure quality assurance and compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (M.S. preferred).
- California PE license required; GE license strongly preferred.
- 8-15+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, including project management.
- Strong technical background in foundation design, slope stability, retaining structures, and seismic analysis.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Southern California geologic conditions and regulatory environment is a plus.
