Water Treatment Operator - Grade III

Job Description:

A reputable engineering and operations firm is seeking an experienced Grade II or Grade III Water Treatment Operator with a strong understanding of public water treatment operations. This individual will serve as the Operator in Responsible Charge for a newly constructed facility located at a remote site in Northern Arizona. The role requires on-site presence four to five days per week and includes oversight of a small team of operators. When off-site, the operator will provide remote support and monitoring.

This position involves full operational responsibility for the facility, including staffing, maintenance, SOP development, compliance reporting, material procurement, and scheduling. Due to the remote location, housing is provided.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience operating ultrafiltration and nanofiltration membranes strongly preferred
  • Licensed Grade 3 Water Treatment Operator in Arizona, or ability to obtain within 3 months
  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and process-related issues
  • Capable of safely lifting up to 50 lbs and walking up to five miles occasionally
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to schedule and manage a team of operators
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships
  • Experience supervising and mentoring staff
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site for two consecutive weeks per month (all travel and lodging expenses covered)
  • Ability to be on-call and remotely monitor the facility when off-site (computer provided)
  • Proficient in completing state-required compliance reporting
