Position Overview:

The individual in this role serves as a Project Manager - Heavy Civil, reporting to the Vice President of Operations. This position involves overseeing multiple bridge and structural projects associated with various state road and highway initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide project oversight for multiple bridge and structural initiatives.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentations for clients, and brief internal teams and senior personnel.
  • Coordinate and schedule project activities and interactions.
  • Manage interdisciplinary teams, including professionals and support staff.
  • Demonstrate experience with Federal and State-funded bridge projects, including procedural, review, and approval requirements.
  • Engage in detailed discussions about key projects with clients and department managers.
  • Represent the company in interactions with clients and subcontractors during project execution.
  • Negotiate scope changes with clients and subcontractors and pursue additional work opportunities.
  • Follow up on project-related instructions and commitments.
  • Participate in regulatory negotiations and public meetings on behalf of clients.
  • Implement project documentation such as Execution Plans, Health and Safety Plans, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans.
  • Collaborate with managers, engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and project plans, ensuring goals are met or exceeded.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with a structural focus), Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in engineering design and management of bridge and structural projects.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, and bridge control system rehabilitation or replacement, particularly moveable bridge projects.
  • Prior project management experience in the NYC area on heavy civil projects, including cost reporting, engineering submittals, work plans, RFIs, CPM scheduling, T&M billing, and change orders.
  • Strong project management skills and client-facing experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • OSHA 30 certification (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with Procore, MS Project, and Primavera/P6 is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
