Highway Project Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Highway Project Engineer to join our growing team in Columbus. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging transportation projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the development of safe and efficient roadway systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage highway design projects from planning through final design.
- Prepare roadway plans, profiles, and cross-sections in accordance with state and federal standards.
- Develop cost estimates, specifications, and project schedules.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project success.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in highway or roadway design.
- Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, and related design software.
- Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and state DOT standards.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
