Highway/Roadway Engineer 3

Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)

I'm partnered with a well-established engineering consulting firm that is looking to add a Highway/Roadway Engineer to its growing transportation team in Boston. This is an opportunity to work on a diverse mix of roadway and multimodal transportation projects throughout New England while collaborating with experienced technical leaders on impactful infrastructure improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop roadway design criteria, alignments, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Support transportation projects from preliminary engineering through final design
  • Collaborate with project managers, task leaders, and technical leads on complex transportation assignments
  • Review designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Perform QA/QC reviews of project deliverables
  • Conduct site reviews and field investigations to validate design requirements
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff
  • Contribute to roadway, highway, and multimodal transportation projects for public-sector and municipal clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant highway or transportation design experience
  • Experience supporting roadway and multimodal projects from preliminary design through final design
  • Knowledge of drainage design and analysis
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads Designer
  • Working knowledge of transportation design standards and best practices
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Experience

  • MassDOT, CTDOT, NHDOT, or municipal transportation project experience
  • OpenRoads ConceptStation experience
  • EIT certification
