Lead Distribution Engineer - Philadelphia, PA

Position: Lead Electrical Distribution Engineer
Location: Hybrid in Philadelphia, PA

We are currently looking for a seasoned Lead Electrical Distribution Engineer to join our client's dynamic team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This leadership role involves overseeing a team responsible for the design and execution of various electrical distribution projects, ranging from small-scale assignments to extensive and intricate distribution systems. The ideal candidate will leverage their leadership capabilities and technical expertise to ensure the successful delivery of diverse engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise engineering personnel in the development of utility infrastructure designs, budget estimations, and client invoicing.
- Oversee multiple electrical distribution initiatives, managing systems from 120V up to 34.5kV.
- Contribute to project planning by establishing timelines and allocating technical resources effectively.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on engineering standards including NESC, NEC, ASCE, and safety regulations.
- Train team members in the use of engineering software, tools, and company vehicles.
- Facilitate clear and professional communication with both internal teams and external partners.
- Lead quality assurance reviews of engineering plans, material specifications, and construction documentation.
- Work with department leadership to refine and implement engineering protocols and best practices.
- Collaborate across departments to support organizational goals and initiatives.
- Foster and maintain strong client relationships while identifying new business opportunities.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- Minimum of five years of experience in electrical distribution system design.
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and ensure high-quality project outcomes.
- In-depth understanding of both overhead and underground distribution systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as NESC, ASCE, and IEEE.
- Proficient in engineering software including PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Attributes:
- Proven experience in managing engineering teams and delegating technical responsibilities.
- Background in providing strategic technical leadership within an engineering organization.
