Location: Columbus, OH and Cincinnati, OH (multiple positions open)

Up to $10K welcome bonus and hybrid options available

Role Overview

As a Lead Process & Mechanical Engineer, you will provide technical direction for municipal water and wastewater projects, guiding multidisciplinary teams and ensuring high-quality engineering outcomes. You will contribute to complex system designs, mentor junior staff, collaborate closely with project managers, and help shape solutions that support resilient community infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Set engineering direction for major municipal water and wastewater projects
  • Provide oversight to ensure design accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance
  • Mentor and develop early‑career engineers

Design & Analysis

  • Produce evaluations and designs for pumping, treatment, and conveyance systems
  • Complete hydraulic calculations, process piping layouts, and equipment/tank sizing
  • Perform system modeling and water quality analysis
  • Develop technical specifications and front‑end documents for public bid projects

Collaboration

  • Work with BIM specialists to refine layouts and prepare detailed drawings
  • Support proposal development and participate in client meetings
  • Review engineering deliverables across disciplines

Innovation & Industry Engagement

  • Identify improved design approaches and system optimizations
  • Contribute to technical papers, publications, and conference presentations

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel (approx. 10%)

Preferred Experience

  • Strong background in process mechanical design, including:
    • Hydraulics
    • Piping systems
    • Pumping systems
    • Blower systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and mentor staff
