Mechanical Engineering Manager
Overview:
Seeking an experienced engineering leader to oversee the design and execution of complex infrastructure projects, with a focus on mechanical systems. This role combines hands-on engineering with project management, client engagement, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will ensure high-quality deliverables, manage project timelines and budgets, and maintain strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering design and execution for large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
- Manage and mentor project engineers, providing technical oversight and quality assurance.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and external partners to align project goals and expectations.
- Lead client meetings, document action items, and ensure follow-through.
- Support business development by contributing to proposals, cost estimates, and contract development.
- Maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business and referrals.
- Ensure accurate project accounting, including invoicing and compliance with financial protocols.
- Represent the firm at industry events and support marketing and growth initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in power generation, distributed energy, or related sectors.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- Proven expertise in designing and integrating systems such as combustion turbines, internal combustion engines, boilers, chillers, pumps, and other mechanical equipment.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, building codes, and multidisciplinary engineering coordination.
- Strong understanding of power plant operations, energy efficiency strategies, and construction practices.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Excellent communication, technical writing, and project documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Location & Work Environment:
Flexible work arrangements available, including hybrid options. The candidate can work out of our Philadelphia, New York City or Princeton (NJ) offices.
