Position Overview

The Senior Construction Manager / Operations Manager will provide leadership and oversight for large-scale mechanical construction projects, with a particular focus on HVAC and piping installations within healthcare and institutional environments.

This individual will serve as a key leader within the business, working closely with executive leadership, project teams, field operations, and clients to ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex mechanical projects and a deep understanding of field operations, manpower planning, scheduling, procurement, safety, and client management.

This role offers a clear path to becoming a critical leader within a growing organization as they continue to expand their healthcare project portfolio throughout Texas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership for large-scale HVAC, piping, and plumbing construction projects.
  • Oversee Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership teams.
  • Drive project execution, safety, quality, scheduling, and financial performance.
  • Lead manpower planning and resource allocation across multiple projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, architects, and engineers.
  • Support preconstruction, budgeting, estimating, and project planning efforts.
  • Review project performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Mentor and develop future project and operations leaders within the organization.
  • Partner with executive leadership on strategic growth initiatives and future project pursuits.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in commercial mechanical construction.
  • Strong background overseeing large-scale HVAC installation projects.
  • Experience managing Project Managers, Superintendents, and multiple project teams.
  • Proven success delivering complex healthcare, hospital, medical, higher education, or mission-critical projects.
  • Strong understanding of project financials, forecasting, procurement, scheduling, and labor management.
  • Experience working directly with owners and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead multiple large projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Healthcare construction experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working within active hospital and medical campus environments.
  • Background managing central utility plants, central energy plants, and large mechanical infrastructure projects.
  • Experience supporting preconstruction and design-assist efforts.
  • Mechanical contracting experience within Texas markets.
