A leading mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations on commercial and industrial projects. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day site activities, coordinating crews and subcontractors, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily field operations for mechanical construction projects, including HVAC, piping, plumbing, and sheet metal scopes
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate labor, equipment, and materials to meet project milestones
- Lead and supervise foremen, journeymen, apprentices, and subcontractors
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations on all job sites
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and general contractors
- Conduct site meetings, toolbox talks, and progress reviews
- Review drawings, specifications, and scopes to ensure accurate installation
- Track productivity, manpower loading, and field performance
- Identify and resolve constructability issues and field conflicts
- Maintain daily reports, schedules, RFIs, and quality documentation
- Support commissioning, punch list completion, and closeout activities
Qualifications
- 7-10+ years of experience in mechanical construction, with prior superintendent or lead foreman experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, piping, and mechanical installations
- Proven ability to manage crews on complex, fast-paced job sites
- Experience working on projects such as office buildings, healthcare, education, industrial, or data centers (preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Solid understanding of scheduling, safety compliance, and quality control
- Comfortable using field technology (Procore, Bluebeam, tablets, scheduling tools, etc.)
