[MELB] Commissioning Lead - Data Center

This organisation is expanding its Australian presence and is seeking a Commissioning Lead to support ongoing and upcoming data center projects. The role focuses on overseeing commissioning delivery while helping grow the company's capability and client base.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee electrical/mechanical commissioning activities across L1-L5.
  • Guide on‑site commissioning teams and ensure quality delivery.
  • Manage client relationships, vendor coordination, and act as chair in commissioning meetings.
  • Support project mobilisation and kick‑off of new commissioning scopes.
  • Ensure compliance with contract obligations and technical documentation.
  • Drive delivery execution while the organisation builds its local portfolio.

Requirements

  • Mechanical background preferred, though strong electrical candidates will still be considered.
  • 8+ years of experience within the data center commissioning space is ideal for a Lead‑level title.
  • Strong hands‑on commissioning capability (particularly mechanical systems).
  • Experience managing teams, clients, vendors, and chairing formal commissioning meetings.
  • Proven experience delivering commissioning for data centers or mission‑critical facilities.
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision and support business expansion in Australia.
