The Opportunity
A leading general contractor with a strong reputation across the mission-critical sector is seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent to support delivery of a hyperscale data centre project in Barstow, Texas. This is a key site leadership role on a high-profile build, offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge infrastructure alongside industry-leading teams.
The Role
As the MEP Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes on-site, ensuring safe, high-quality, and on-schedule delivery of work packages. You will play a critical role in coordinating multiple trade partners across complex systems and maintaining alignment with project milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day on-site MEP construction activities across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades
- Coordinate subcontractors, ensuring work is delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and schedule
- Drive programme performance through short-term lookaheads and weekly planning meetings
- Collaborate closely with Project Management, QA/QC, Safety, and Commissioning teams
- Oversee installation, start-up, and commissioning support for mission-critical systems
- Identify and resolve field issues, ensuring minimal disruption to the critical path
- Maintain strong relationships with client representatives and key project stakeholders
Requirements
- 5+ years of MEP construction experience in a Superintendent or similar field leadership role
- Proven track record delivering data centre or mission-critical projects
- Strong understanding of MEP systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, and plumbing infrastructure
- Experience managing large-scale subcontractor teams and coordinating multi-trade scopes
- Knowledge of commissioning processes and quality assurance standards
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure project environment
