NICET 2/3 Inspector | Albany

A well- established firm, dedicated to improving infrastructure across New York, is looking to bring on a full-time NICET II or NICET III Construction Inspector to their team in Albany, New York.

This firm has earned a reputation for excellence in civil and transportation engineering & has successfully completed a wide range of high-profile projects- including the design & rehabilitation of major bridges and transportation system across the state.

Project Focus: Candidates MUST HAVE current NICET II or NICET III Certification and hands-on experience inspecting NYSDOT transportation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform construction inspection on NYSDOT highway, bridge, and transportation projects.
  • Monitor contractor work for compliance with plans, specifications, and NYSDOT standards.
  • Review quantities, daily reports, force accounts, and construction documentation.
  • Coordinate with contractors, project managers, and agency representatives.
  • Inspect concrete, asphalt, earthwork, drainage, utilities, and structural elements.
  • Track project progress and identify construction issues in the field.
  • Assist with project closeout documentation and record keeping.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure adherence to project requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or Associate's degree preferred.
  • NICET Level II or III Certification required.
  • 3+ years of construction inspection experience.
  • NYSDOT construction inspection experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of NYSDOT specifications, procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Experience inspecting roadway, bridge, utility, and transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Familiarity with SiteManager, Bentley products, and related construction management software preferred.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work in the field throughout the Capital Region.
