About the Role
A leading renewable energy company in the Asia-Pacific region is seeking an experienced Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Lead Engineer to oversee solar energy projects in Japan. This role is pivotal in ensuring optimal performance, safety, and efficiency across solar assets, while driving continuous improvement and standardization in O&M practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation of solar projects, monitoring performance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Implement and coordinate maintenance procedures and standards with service contractors to ensure operational excellence.
- Participate in tendering, contract negotiations, and setup for O&M-related services and parts.
- Supervise service level agreements and inspections required by regulatory authorities.
- Lead initiatives to enhance operational performance and ensure their execution.
- Contribute to budgeting processes for O&M activities to maximize asset profitability.
- Manage relationships with local stakeholders, regulators, contractors, and internal departments.
- Ensure maintenance policies are followed to optimize cost-benefit outcomes.
- Engage regularly with local authorities and communities.
- Support insurance setup and claims management.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Fluent in Japanese and English.
- Valid driving license.
- Proven experience managing solar assets above 2 MW.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV technology, maintenance techniques, energy market regulations, and performance monitoring.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in maintenance and testing techniques.
- Familiarity with industrial norms and standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
