Party Chief
A well‑established locally owned surveying company in Idaho Falls is seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead field operations on a variety of surveying projects across Eastern Idaho. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on fieldwork, leading crews, and working on diverse projects in a stable, locally focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage daily survey field operations and crew activities
- Perform boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, and as‑built surveys
- Operate GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors
- Review survey plans and ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements
- Coordinate with project managers and office staff to maintain schedules and quality
- Train and mentor survey technicians and junior crew members
- Ensure safe work practices and proper maintenance of equipment
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of land survey experience with Crew Chief or lead‑level responsibilities
- Strong understanding of surveying principles, procedures, and field calculations
- Proficiency with GPS and robotic total station equipment
- Experience with construction staking and boundary surveys
- Ability to work independently and lead crews effectively
- Valid driver's license; CST certification a plus
