Piping detailer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Piping Detailer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating accurate and comprehensive piping system drawings and models using CAD and BIM software. This role plays a critical part in supporting the design, coordination, and installation of mechanical systems for commercial and industrial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed piping layouts and spool drawings based on engineering designs and specifications.
• Create and maintain 3D models using AutoCAD, Revit, and/or other BIM software.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure constructability and accuracy of piping systems.
• Coordinate with other trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) to resolve clashes and ensure seamless integration.
• Generate bills of materials (BOMs), isometric drawings, and fabrication details.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to value engineering efforts.
• Maintain drawing standards and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree or technical certification in drafting, mechanical design, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in piping detailing within the mechanical construction industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and other relevant software.
• Strong understanding of piping systems, materials, and fabrication processes.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ANSI).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with prefabrication and modular construction workflows.
• Knowledge of point cloud integration and laser scanning technologies.
• Familiarity with construction project management platforms (e.g., Procore, BIM 360).
