They are seeking a Principal Environmental Planner to establish and lead a brand‑new environmental planning and permitting business line. This is an exciting opportunity to build service offerings from the ground up, drive business development, and mentor a growing team.
What You'll Do
As the Principal Environmental Planner, you will:
- Build and lead the environmental planning & permitting practice, including service definitions and near‑/long‑term growth strategies.
- Prepare and oversee CEQA/NEPA documents including Categorical Exemptions, IS/MNDs, Environmental Assessments, and related analyses.
- Develop and manage resource agency permit applications (CWA 404/401, ESA Sections 7/10, NHPA Section 106, LSAA).
- Lead BD strategy, attend industry events, and cultivate relationships to identify opportunities and grow revenue.
What You Bring
This company is looking for a proven leader with:
- B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Planning, Geology, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years environmental industry experience with CEQA/NEPA and resource agency permitting.
- 5+ years leading or managing an environmental planning/permitting practice.
- Strong working knowledge of CEQA/NEPA, Clean Water Act, ESA, and NHPA regulations.
