Seeking a seasoned Principal Engineer with deep expertise in advanced water treatment. This role focuses on the evaluation, design, and implementation of cutting-edge treatment systems for potable reuse and drinking water facilities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in UV and UV-AOP processes and a passion for innovation in sustainable water solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical assessment and selection of advanced treatment processes, particularly UV and UV-AOP, from concept through basis-of-design.
  • Drive innovation in treatment process design and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Oversee the development and execution of commissioning plans for advanced treatment systems, ensuring smooth start-up and operational readiness.
  • Provide ongoing technical support for operations and maintenance, including troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Serve as a recognized authority in the field, making impactful decisions that influence project direction and technical strategy.
  • Represent the firm in professional circles through technical presentations, committee participation, and authorship of industry publications.
  • Travel occasionally to project sites and client meetings as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Over 20 years of experience in environmental consulting with a focus on advanced water treatment technologies.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering challenges with creativity and sound judgement.
  • Strong communication skills and experience engaging with clients and project teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and technical presentations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with commissioning and startup of UV and UV-AOP systems.
  • Proven track record of publishing technical manuals or presenting at major industry conferences.

Compensation

Estimated annual salary range: $180,000 - $200,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other relevant factors.
