Overview:
A privately held, growth-oriented engineering firm specializing in industrial utility systems is seeking a Project & Construction Engineer to join its team. The company designs, builds, and operates advanced compressed air systems tailored to industrial applications, delivering reliable and efficient solutions that help clients optimize performance and reduce costs.
Position Summary:
This role is responsible for leading the execution of engineering projects and managing construction activities from concept through commissioning. The Project & Construction Engineer will oversee project teams, ensure safety and compliance, manage budgets and schedules, and serve as the primary liaison with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders. The position also supports ongoing plant operations and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage project execution strategies and schedules from kickoff to operational launch.
- Lead cross-functional project teams including internal engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives.
- Monitor and report on project progress, costs, and risks; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Negotiate with vendors and contractors to ensure cost-effective procurement and service delivery.
- Oversee construction planning, including logistics, contractor selection, safety protocols, and site coordination.
- Support on-site activities during construction, commissioning, and startup phases.
- Maintain strong client relationships and lead regular project review meetings.
- Contribute to electrical engineering tasks and provide technical support as needed.
- Champion safety throughout all phases of project execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Project Management certification is a plus).
- 3-5+ years of experience in industrial engineering, project execution, and field construction.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and teams.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%, with extended site presence during key phases.
- Proficiency in MS Project and familiarity with construction safety standards.
