Position Overview
An established and expanding engineering consultancy is seeking a Project Engineer with a focus on traffic, highways, and roadways, to support growth in its Hamden, CT office. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a newly developing location, collaborate with a small and supportive team, and take ownership of impactful transportation projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to traffic and transportation engineering projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across regional offices.
- Assist in traffic signal design and operational analysis.
- Prepare and review engineering plans using industry-standard software.
- Participate in community engagement and internal team-building initiatives.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in traffic and transportation engineering.
- EIT certification required; PE license preferred (or ability to obtain within 12-18 months).
- Familiarity with Connecticut DOT standards and procedures.
- Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD
- Civil 3D
- MicroStation
- VISSIM
- AutoTURN
- Knowledge of traffic signal designs
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Prior experience working in Connecticut is preferred.
