An established and growing commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its team. Position Overview

The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, financial performance, and successful completion of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, financial acumen, and the ability to effectively manage relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects through all phases of construction, from preconstruction through final turnover.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and cost reports.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, buyout, and contract administration.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documents for completeness and constructability.
  • Oversee project financials, including cost control, forecasting, change management, and profitability.
  • Negotiate and manage change orders with owners and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate closely with Superintendents to ensure schedule, quality, and safety goals are achieved.
  • Lead owner meetings and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure project compliance with contract requirements and company standards.
  • Manage project risks and proactively resolve issues before they impact project performance.
  • Oversee project closeout activities including punch list completion, turnover documentation, and warranty coordination.
  • Mentor and develop Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager within commercial construction.
  • Proven experience managing projects ranging from $10M to $100M+.
  • Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and project delivery processes.
  • Experience with negotiated, CMAR, design-build, and hard-bid projects preferred.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong financial management and forecasting experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
