Project Manager - Commercial Solar
Position Summary
An established renewable energy company is seeking a Project Manager to support the successful delivery of commercial and distributed solar projects. This individual will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of project execution from initiation through construction and closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and permitting
- Oversee subcontractor selection, contracting, and on-site performance
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and regulatory guidelines
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, clients, and external partners
- Monitor project progress and provide regular reporting on timelines, costs, and risks
- Identify and mitigate project risks to ensure successful delivery
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of project management experience within construction or renewable energy
- Experience delivering commercial or distributed generation solar projects preferred
- Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, and cost control
- Familiarity with permitting, interconnection, and utility coordination processes
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training preferred
Working Conditions
- Combination of office-based work and travel to project sites as required
- Travel expectations may vary depending on project location and phase
