Position Overview

An established engineering firm is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex municipal and industrial water and wastewater projects. This role involves managing all phases of project execution-from business development and proposal writing to design oversight and commissioning. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent client relationship skills, and a proven ability to manage large-scale engineering projects.


Responsibilities

  • Lead water/wastewater projects from initiation through completion
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders
  • Oversee project design, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including proposal development and contract negotiation
  • Manage internal engineering teams and coordinate with external subconsultants
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff
  • Support construction activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, and change orders
  • Travel occasionally for client meetings and industry events (up to 6 times/year)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering (or related field)
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 10+ years of experience in water/wastewater project management
  • Strong technical expertise in water/wastewater process and hydraulic design
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Plant 3D, Revit (preferred)
  • Experience with modeling software such as BioWin, WaterCAD, or Bentley Flowmaster (preferred)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and time management skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously
