About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Sales Manager to drive business development, project acquisition, and client engagement across Malaysia's municipal, industrial, and infrastructure water markets. This role is ideal for a commercially driven individual with strong technical understanding of water/wastewater systems and a proven track record of winning complex project tenders.

You will work closely with regional leadership, technical engineering teams, and operations to identify opportunities, shape proposals, and deliver tailored solutions to clients in manufacturing, utilities, and government-linked sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Lead end-to-end project sales cycles, from opportunity identification to tender submission, negotiation, and contract closing.
  • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for the Malaysia region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industrial clients, EPCs, OEMs, contractors, government agencies, water authorities, and engineering consultants.
  • Proactively pursue industrial and municipal water treatment opportunities, including turnkey projects, equipment sales, and long-term service contracts.

Technical & Commercial Responsibilities

  • Work with internal engineering teams to develop technical proposals, system designs, and cost estimates for water and wastewater solutions.
  • Translate customer requirements into feasible commercial offerings.
  • Review tender documents and ensure proposals are competitively positioned and compliant.
  • Conduct site visits, system assessments, and technical presentations.

Market & Strategy

  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, competitor activities, and major project pipelines across Malaysia.
  • Identify opportunities for product/service differentiation and margin optimization.
  • Support regional leadership in quarterly forecasting, pipeline management, and revenue planning.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade exhibitions.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth project handover from sales to execution.

Key Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in project sales, business development, or technical sales within water treatment, wastewater, utilities, industrial engineering, EPC, or environmental solutions.
  • Strong understanding of UF/RO, biological treatment, sludge systems, wastewater recycling, ZLD, or related process technologies (advantageous).
  • Proven track record in winning tenders and handling complex, multi-stakeholder project environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and tender documents.
  • Strong network with industrial manufacturers, EPC contractors, and utility agencies in Malaysia.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-driven, able to work independently and travel domestically when required.
