An established construction management and development organisation with a strong presence across the Mid-Atlantic region is seeking a Project Scheduler to support the delivery of large-scale mission critical projects.

Position Overview

The Project Scheduler will be responsible for supporting the planning, development, maintenance, analysis, and reporting of project schedules from preconstruction through final project turnover.

The successful candidate will work closely with project executives, operations teams, preconstruction professionals, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to develop and maintain fully integrated project schedules that support successful project outcomes.

This position offers involvement in all phases of project delivery, including pursuit activities, planning, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed CPM schedules for mission critical construction projects.

  • Support preconstruction and business development teams with proposal and pursuit schedules.

  • Assist project teams in developing baseline schedules and execution plans.

  • Monitor project progress and ensure schedules accurately reflect current project status.

  • Facilitate schedule review meetings with project stakeholders.

  • Coordinate schedule updates from internal teams and external partners.

  • Develop recovery schedules and mitigation plans when required.

  • Perform schedule analysis to identify risks, constraints, and opportunities.

  • Prepare schedule narratives and executive reporting packages.

  • Evaluate schedule impacts related to design changes, procurement issues, and field challenges.

  • Support project leadership in making schedule-driven decisions.

  • Provide schedule forecasting and milestone tracking.

  • Assist with resource loading and cost-loaded scheduling activities where required.

  • Ensure compliance with company scheduling standards and industry best practices.

  • Participate in pull-planning, phasing, and collaborative planning sessions.

  • Analyse critical path activities and identify schedule optimisation opportunities.

  • Generate weekly and monthly reporting metrics.

  • Review subcontractor schedules and integrate updates into the master project schedule.

  • Support project controls initiatives across multiple projects simultaneously.

Day-to-Day Duties

A typical week may include:

  • Conducting project schedule update meetings.

  • Working with project managers and superintendents on look-ahead planning.

  • Updating schedules based on field progress.

  • Reviewing procurement activities and long-lead equipment tracking.

  • Supporting project teams with schedule-related problem solving.

  • Developing executive-level schedule presentations.

  • Performing schedule health checks and quality reviews.

  • Reviewing commissioning and turnover milestones.

  • Identifying schedule risks before they impact project delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience developing and maintaining CPM schedules within the construction industry.

  • Proficiency using Primavera P6.

  • Strong understanding of scheduling methodology and critical path analysis.

  • Experience supporting large and complex construction projects.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both field and office personnel.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Experience preparing schedule narratives and project reports.

  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.

  • Strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mission critical or data centre project experience.

  • Experience supporting large-scale commercial, industrial, advanced technology, life sciences, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, energy, or infrastructure projects.

  • Experience with resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules.

  • Knowledge of commissioning and turnover processes.

  • Understanding of earned value concepts and project controls methodologies.

  • Experience working in design-build or integrated project delivery environments.

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Controls, or a related field.
