Position Overview

The Regional Manager for Geophysical Data Services leads a specialized team responsible for delivering high-quality geophysical data processing and interpretation across multiple data centers in the Asia Pacific region. This role is pivotal in ensuring technical excellence, operational efficiency, and strategic alignment with broader business goals.

The manager oversees the full lifecycle of client deliverables-from equipment optimization and data acquisition quality control to final deliverables that meet contractual and industry standards. The goal is to ensure that outputs are of such quality that external consultants can develop ground models and interpretative reports without requiring significant reprocessing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape departmental strategy in alignment with global objectives, driving geophysical innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and the establishment of robust technical standards.
  • Serve as the technical authority for marine geophysics, guiding multidisciplinary teams through project development, geo-data contextualization, execution, and client engagement, while ensuring quality documentation and impactful technical delivery.
  • Oversee departmental budgets, capital planning, and operational expenses, driving cost efficiencies through digital transformation and collaborating with procurement and finance to optimize supplier performance.
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of geoscientists, engineers, and data specialists, overseeing performance, career growth, staffing decisions, training programs, and fostering a culture of engagement and satisfaction.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal policies, external audits, and HSE standards, while leading quality reviews, maintaining documentation, and facilitating project evaluations and continuous improvement sessions.
  • Lead daily planning and coordination, monitor departmental KPIs, conduct site visits, and oversee workshop operations while ensuring seamless collaboration across administrative, procurement, finance, and travel functions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geophysics, Seismology, or related field
  • 12 years of experience in geophysical project management and technical leadership
  • 5 years of experience managing technical teams
  • Strong strategic planning and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and quality frameworks
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies
  • Financial literacy and audit experience
  • Proficiency in English and Malay
  • Skilled in MS Office and macro-enabled Excel
