REMOTE Healthcare Project Manager

Position Overview

The Healthcare Project Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of healthcare-related construction and renovation projects, including new facility builds and interior fit-outs. This role also supports strategic planning, design coordination, and cost estimating for upcoming development opportunities in collaboration with project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Team Collaboration

  • Build and sustain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Represent the organization in meetings and presentations with stakeholders, including public officials and community representatives.
  • Foster a positive team culture and contribute to leadership and staff development initiatives.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and a clean driving record for travel to project sites.

Preconstruction & Planning

  • Lead procurement efforts for design teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and utility coordination.
  • Assist in preparing project estimates, site layouts, and development proposals.
  • Develop and manage preconstruction scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Oversee the bidding process, evaluate proposals, and make recommendations.
  • Coordinate design reviews and resolve technical conflicts during planning and construction phases.
  • Review project documentation to determine timelines, costs, and entitlement requirements.
  • Approve consultant invoices and monitor preconstruction deliverables.

Project Execution & Oversight

  • Create and maintain detailed construction schedules for internal and external use.
  • Interpret project documents and ensure timely acquisition of submittals and shop drawings.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure alignment with budget, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Supervise contractor performance, including review of submittals, mockups, and field execution.
  • Anticipate project needs and proactively address potential delays or issues.
  • Prepare regular project updates and reports for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with contractors and project teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Promote safety and ensure protection of project assets and property.
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and claims.
  • Oversee financial aspects of the project, including forecasting, cash flow, and risk analysis.
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices and manage project reporting.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Lead project closeout activities, including final documentation, retainage, and lessons learned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline with a focus on planning, design, and construction.
  • 5-10 years of experience managing real estate development projects, preferably in the healthcare sector.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at various stages of development.
  • Skilled in negotiation and process improvement.
  • Willingness to relocate or work remotely if not based in the designated regions.
  • Ability to travel (approximately 15%) to project sites across the region and nationally.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., AIA, PMP, PE, LEED AP) are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Outlook, Excel).
