Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimator with expertise in exterior building restoration and Local Law 11 (FISP) compliance. This role is essential in supporting the preconstruction and bidding process for façade restoration, waterproofing, and structural repair projects across landmark and high-rise buildings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of NYC building codes, restoration techniques, and the unique challenges of working on aging and historic structures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for exterior restoration projects including masonry, terra cotta, cast stone, concrete, and steel repairs.
  • Analyze architectural drawings, FISP reports, and specifications to develop detailed scopes of work.
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and identify restoration needs.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather pricing and technical input.
  • Evaluate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs for façade repairs, waterproofing, and structural upgrades.
  • Develop bid proposals and assist in client presentations.
  • Maintain historical cost data and update pricing databases.
  • Ensure estimates align with Local Law 11 requirements and DOB regulations.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in exterior restoration or façade compliance projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Local Law 11 (FISP) cycles, inspection protocols, and repair standards.
  • Familiarity with restoration of masonry, terra cotta, limestone, concrete, and steel elements.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar).
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Preferred Technical Expertise:

  • Façade restoration and stabilization
  • Waterproofing systems (roof, façade, below-grade)
  • Balcony and garage structural repairs
  • Ornamental stone replication and preservation
  • Scaffold and access planning for façade work
  • NYC DOB filing and permit coordination
