About the Opportunity
A well‑established civil engineering firm is seeking a skilled Roadway Project Manager to lead transportation infrastructure projects across Indiana. This role is ideal for an experienced roadway engineer who thrives on managing multidisciplinary teams, building client relationships, and delivering high‑quality design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage roadway design projects from concept through construction.
- Serve as primary client liaison, maintaining strong and proactive communication.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules; ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams, providing technical guidance and oversight.
- Coordinate with transportation agencies, municipalities, utility companies, and other stakeholders.
- Perform and review design tasks, including geometric design, roadway modeling, traffic control, and drainage coordination.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal standards, including INDOT design requirements.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and pursuit strategy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Indiana (or ability to obtain quickly).
- 6+ years of experience in roadway/transportation design.
- Proven success in leading projects and managing client relationships.
- Proficiency with roadway design software (e.g., MicroStation/OpenRoads).
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience managing INDOT projects.
- Familiarity with LPA (Local Public Agency) programs.
- Experience mentoring junior staff and contributing to team development.
