Safety Director
Our client is seeking a seasoned Safety Director to lead and manage safety operations for their construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety management within the water/wastewater treatment plant and/or underground wet utility construction sectors. This role is critical to ensuring the health and safety of all personnel and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs and policies across all active construction sites.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Provide safety training and education to employees, subcontractors, and site personnel.
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to integrate safety into daily operations.
- Maintain accurate records of safety performance, incidents, and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Safety Manager or Safety Director in water/wastewater treatment plant and/or underground wet utility construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, Cal/OSHA standards, and construction safety best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel to multiple job sites as needed.
- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., CHST, CSP, OSHA 30/500) preferred.
