Sales Manager (Japan) - Chemicals
About Our Client
We are working with one of the world leading water treatment chemical companies who due to recent success across Japan are expanding the team and looking for a Sales Manager to help build up their water portfolio.
Job Description:
- Strengthen relationships with current customers, ensuring consistency in satisfaction with existing and new products
- Identify opportunities for improving or expanding product offerings within existing accounts.
- Actively prospect for new customers by identifying market needs, analysing customer requirements, and introducing alternative or innovative chemical products
- Collaborate with both customers and suppliers to evaluate products and provide feedback.
- Communicate customer needs and feedback to suppliers, offering data and insights that could lead to product enhancements or new grade introductions.
- Prepare, review, and deliver accurate pricing and product quotations to potential and existing customers in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and fulfillment.
- Take proactive measures to improve customer satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly and ensuring excellent customer service.
- Regularly communicate with customers to identify pain points and ensure resolution.
- Submit regular sales activity reports to the Country Sales Manager, detailing accomplishments, challenges, and customer updates.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales metrics to monitor progress
- Provide insights into sales trends, product demand, and potential opportunities or risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related science; MBA is a plus.
- Experience in chemical sales within the water industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of technical sales experience in the chemical industry.
- Proven track record of B2B sales success in industrial or specialty chemicals.
- Experience in the water treatment chemicals industry, including industrial, municipal, or commercial applications.
- Understanding of formulations and performance characteristics of water treatment products.
- Experience working with boiler water, cooling water, and waste-water treatment systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of local and international environmental regulations relevant to water treatment chemicals.
