Senior Automation Engineer - Rockwell & Ignition Specialist

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer with deep expertise in Rockwell Automation platforms and proven experience in Ignition SCADA (Vision and Perspective). The ideal candidate will hold Ignition Core or Gold Certification and bring advanced knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs and FactoryTalk View SE/ME. This hybrid role combines on-site work at our Hopedale, MA facility with remote flexibility, supporting automation initiatives across manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement automation systems using Rockwell Automation and Ignition SCADA technologies.
- Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, etc.).
- Develop and maintain HMI/SCADA systems using FactoryTalk View SE/ME and Ignition Vision & Perspective.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to deliver automation projects.
- Conduct testing, validation, and commissioning of control systems.
- Provide technical support for automation-related issues.
- Maintain documentation for electrical schematics, programming logic, and system configurations.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation products.
- Proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLC programming (RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000).
- Experience developing HMI applications with FactoryTalk View SE and ME.
- Ignition Core or Gold Certification is REQUIRED.
- Hands-on experience with Ignition Vision and Perspective modules.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with industrial networking and communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a hybrid environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing or process automation environments.
- Knowledge of motion control and VFDs.
- Familiarity with scripting or additional automation platforms.
- Experience with HVAC and process control systems.
Work Environment:
This hybrid position requires on-site presence at the Hopedale, MA facility for system integration, commissioning, and support tasks, with flexibility for remote work depending on project needs.
