A nationally respected MEP consulting firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Orlando office. This full-time, permanent role is ideal for an experienced professional with 10+ years of electrical design experience, particularly in healthcare and higher education environments. Role Overview
The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead electrical design efforts for complex institutional projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems for healthcare and university buildings.
- Develop construction documents, specifications, and system layouts using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and equipment selection.
- Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to ensure cohesive design.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to verify installation and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Participate in project planning, budgeting, and client presentations.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design for buildings.
- Proven experience in higher education and/or healthcare projects.
- PE licensure strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA codes, and design best practices.
