Senior Electrical Engineer - Renewable Energy Projects
Location: Austin, TX or Chicago, IL - Office-based (3 days a week)

Salary: $140k - $160k base + 20% bonus & benefits
A leading renewable energy developer is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and engineering of electrical systems for onshore wind, solar, and energy storage projects. This role is ideal for a technically skilled and motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about clean energy.
Role Responsibilities:
* Design of balance of plant (BoP) packages during development
* Engineering project support during pre-construction, construction, and turnover to Operations
* Grid code compliance and interconnection requirements
* Specification and evaluation of major BoP electrical equipment
* Power system modeling and studies
* Coordinating project engineering topics during construction
* Management of 3rd party engineering consultants
* Coordinating with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts during the project lifecycle
* Ensure the highest level of health, safety, and environmental protection is incorporated into designs and standards
* Support the development of electrical engineering standards
* Support the development of engineering processes and procedures
Job Requirements and Experience:
* Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college engineering program
* Advanced degrees may reduce technical experience requirements
* Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in electrical engineering
* Experience in transmission design, substation design, collection/distribution design, major equipment specification, power system studies, and protection/control
* Preferred experience in renewable generation (wind, solar PV, BESS) project design
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage customer relationships
* Demonstrated interest in renewable energy and company mission
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
* Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
* Ability to multitask independently and collaboratively
* Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities
* Empathetic communicator with a collaborative mindset
* Detail-oriented with strong business acumen
