An established engineering firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Project Manager / Civil Engineer to lead complex transportation and infrastructure projects. In this leadership role, you will oversee technical design, project delivery, and client engagement while guiding a team of engineers and designers. This position offers the opportunity to drive impactful work that supports community and infrastructure improvement.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Project Manager, you'll manage the full project lifecycle-from early planning through final design and construction support. You will also contribute to business development, team mentorship, and ongoing client relationship management.
- Manage civil engineering project delivery, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality oversight
- Lead multi‑disciplinary teams and coordinate technical efforts across all project phases
- Develop work plans and monitor progress to ensure alignment with client expectations and contract requirements
- Conduct and oversee QA/QC reviews to ensure adherence to applicable standards and specifications
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
- Conduct field reviews and support resolution of complex construction or coordination challenges
- Support proposal development, including pursuit strategies and go/no‑go evaluations
- Maintain strong client relationships and assist in expanding business opportunities
- Represent the firm at professional events, client meetings, and industry gatherings
- Stay current on transportation engineering practices, regulations, and design technologies
Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- Project management experience in transportation or infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with public outreach and environmental processes a plus
- Strong technical background in transportation design and civil infrastructure
- Proficiency with civil design software; experience with industry‑standard platforms preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, mentor staff, and collaborate across teams
