Location: Tampa or Fort Lauderdale, FL
Role Summary: My client is looking for an environmental professional with at least 7 years of experience in environmental consulting which must include experience in the FDEP Petroleum Restoration Program projects. Project management as well as previous managerial task experience is a plus as well as this role involves the mentoring of junior staff and project leadership. This role will be joining a team of 50 in the Florida region, joining a nationally ranked firm and key contractor for the FDEP PRP.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manager FDEP Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP) projects from inception to completion, ensuring along with the team that all project goals are met within the specified timeline and budget.
- Execute and oversee the design and implementation of remedial systems, including site assessments, feasibility studies, and engineering designs.
- Ensure all projects comply with FDEP regulations and other relevant environmental laws and standards.
- Mentor and develop junior engineering staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, project documentation, and presentations for clients and regulatory agencies.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and financial accountability.
- Develop new client relationships through local and national business development in the Southeastern US and Florida.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in environmental engineering, with a focus on petroleum restoration projects and remedial system design, construction, and maintenance.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) is preferred or ability to obtain with a year.
- Strong proficiency in environmental engineering principles, remedial system design, and project management software.
- Knowledge of FDEP regulations and other relevant environmental laws and standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, regulatory agencies, and team members.
- Proven ability to lead and manage project teams, with a focus on mentoring and developing junior staff.
