I'm partnering with an employee-owned environmental consulting firm seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager (Energy) to lead environmental planning and compliance efforts for major renewable energy and electrical infrastructure projects throughout California.
This role is ideal for a senior environmental professional with 15-20 years of experience in environmental consulting, CEQA/NEPA compliance, project management, and business development. The position offers the opportunity to lead high-profile energy projects while mentoring teams and growing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead CEQA and NEPA environmental review efforts for renewable energy and utility infrastructure projects.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, deliverables, invoicing, and client communications.
- Oversee environmental documents, technical reports, and quality assurance reviews.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and serve as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders.
- Support public outreach, agency coordination, and stakeholder engagement efforts.
- Drive business development through proposals, interviews, client management, and capture strategies.
- Mentor junior and mid-level staff and contribute to team growth and development.
Preferred Qualifications
- 20+ years of environmental planning, permitting, or environmental compliance experience.
- Strong expertise with CEQA and experience supporting NEPA processes.
- Background supporting renewable energy, electric transmission, utility, or infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated success managing complex projects and leading teams.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, or a related discipline.
