Position Overview

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will serve as both a technical expert and project leader, guiding geotechnical projects from proposal development through final delivery.

This role offers the opportunity to lead challenging investigations, perform advanced geotechnical analyses, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and build trusted client relationships while mentoring the next generation of engineers.

You'll play a critical role in delivering technically sound, practical recommendations for complex subsurface conditions while helping expand the firm's geotechnical presence and client base throughout the region.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead geotechnical projects from planning and investigation through analysis, reporting, and construction support.
  • Perform advanced geotechnical evaluations including foundation design, settlement analyses, slope stability assessments, and earth retention systems.
  • Develop practical recommendations for challenging subsurface and ground improvement conditions.
  • Prepare and review high-quality technical reports, proposals, and engineering deliverables.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, quality control, and risk management initiatives.
  • Support business development efforts and help strengthen long-term client relationships.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff while fostering professional growth within the team.
  • Provide leadership during field investigations, drilling operations, and construction-phase services.
  • Promote a culture of safety, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required or ability to obtain.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience within the A/E/C industry.
  • Strong project management and client relationship experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in geotechnical investigations, analyses, and design.
  • Experience preparing technical reports and engineering recommendations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring capabilities.
