Senior Healthcare Project Architect

A highly reputable architecture practice with over 30 years of leadership in Science & Technology facility design is currently expanding their healthcare portfolio, and are looking to hire a Senior Project Architect to join their offices in San Francisco, Mountain View, San Diego, and Sacramento!

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple aspects of healthcare projects, including client coordination, team leadership, and full documentation oversight.
  • Lead communication between internal teams, clients, consultants, vendors, and contractors.
  • Provide technical guidance and creative solutions to resolve complex design and construction challenges.
  • Advocate for high-quality, accurate technical documentation throughout all project phases.
  • Apply knowledge of various project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, IPD, etc.).
  • Maintain and grow client relationships through proactive engagement and project excellence.
  • Conduct site observations, manage RFIs and submittals, and interface with permitting officials.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to the firm's healthcare design standards.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience as a technical project architect, with a focus on healthcare work.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field.
  • Architectural licensure preferred.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and healthcare-specific regulations.
  • OSHPD/HCAI experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD required; familiarity with Bluebeam, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office is a bonus.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience managing specifications and project manuals.
  • Accreditations such as ACHA, DBIA, EDAC, WELL, LEED, or LCI are a plus.
