About the Role

Our Client is seeking an experienced Senior Pipeline Estimator to join their team and lead competitive bids for underground water pipeline projects across Northern California. This is a high-impact role responsible for developing accurate, strategic estimates that drive their continued growth and project success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for underground water pipeline projects, with a primary focus on Northern California public works opportunities.
  • Lead bid preparation, including quantity takeoffs, subcontractor outreach, pricing, and proposal development.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to ensure accurate and complete estimates.
  • Collaborate with project management, operations, and executive leadership to develop winning bid strategies.
  • Maintain strong industry relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and public agencies.
  • Utilize HCSS (HeavyBid) extensively for estimating and bid preparation.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience successfully estimating, bidding, and winning underground water pipeline projects in Northern California.
  • Extensive public works experience, including familiarity with local agencies, standards, and bidding procedures.
  • Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid estimating software.
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods related to pipeline installation, trenching, shoring, and associated civil work.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple simultaneous bids.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cost modeling for large-diameter pipeline projects.
  • Knowledge of Northern California union labor environments, equipment rates, and regional cost drivers.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).
