Senior Project Controls Engineer
As Project Controls Engineer, you'll be embedded within project teams, providing CPM scheduling, reporting, and project controls support on active data center construction projects. You'll play a key role in ensuring schedules are realistic, risks are identified early, and leadership has clear, actionable insight into project performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, maintaining, and monitoring construction CPM schedules
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and contracts to build accurate baseline schedules
- Performing schedule updates, including detailed narratives and reporting
- Analyzing schedules, identifying critical paths, and recommending corrective actions
- Reviewing contractor schedules and progress and presenting findings to management
- Conducting site walks to validate progress and support monthly reporting
- Developing and tracking metrics, KPIs, and benchmarks
- Supporting cost and resource management and reporting
- Identifying schedule risks, impacts, and mitigation strategies
- Communicating project status clearly to project teams, clients, and stakeholders
- Participating in coordination meetings with owners, clients, and delivery teams
What My Client Is Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in project controls and CPM scheduling within vertical construction
- 2+ years of direct experience supporting data center projects
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or a related field
(may be waived with 5+ years of relevant industry experience) - Strong proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6
- Ability to interpret complex construction and contract documents
- Solid understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing
- Experience developing construction schedules specifically for data centers
- Knowledge of cost and resource management principles
- Familiarity with contractual clauses related to planning and scheduling
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multi-project environment
- AACEI PSP and/or PMI-SP certification preferred
- Must be full-time, on-site in New York
