Salary Range: $120,000-$165,000, dependent on experience
About the Opportunity
A well‑established consulting engineering firm is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support and lead technical design efforts on water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the successful delivery of planning and design projects involving pipelines, pump stations, storage, treatment processes, and related civil infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and perform engineering design for water/wastewater conveyance and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and review calculations, technical analyses, and engineering reports.
- Develop plans, specifications, engineer's cost estimates, and other design deliverables.
- Conduct hydraulic modeling, system evaluation, and technical feasibility assessments.
- Coordinate and collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams including civil, structural, mechanical, and environmental specialists.
- Provide quality control review of engineering work completed by junior engineers and designers.
- Support project managers with schedule management, budget tracking, and client coordination.
- Participate in field investigations, site assessments, and construction‑phase engineering support.
- Assist with permitting documentation and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Contribute to proposal development, technical scope creation, and business development activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or related engineering discipline (Master's degree preferred).
- 8-12+ years of experience in water/wastewater, water resources, or civil infrastructure engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required (California preferred).
- Strong technical background in hydraulic analysis, modeling, or pipeline/conveyance design.
- Proficiency with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, hydraulic modeling tools).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively within multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Experience providing mentorship or technical guidance to junior engineers.
Compensation
This role offers a competitive salary range of $120,000-$165,000, depending on experience, technical depth, and qualifications. Additional benefits and professional development opportunities are typically provided.
