The opportunity
This role is designed for an experienced engineering professional who enjoys solving difficult problems, leading teams, and owning project delivery. The position blends hands on technical judgment with project leadership, client interaction, and mentorship, with a clear path toward long term leadership.
Work spans a range of technically demanding assignments that may involve advanced analysis, dynamic or seismic evaluation, assessment of structures and systems under extreme loading, and design or verification of critical structural components. Projects often require careful consideration of risk, constructability, and long term performance in regulated or mission critical environments.
What you will do
- Lead delivery of complex engineering projects from scoping through execution and closeout
- Serve as technical lead on advanced analysis and critical infrastructure work
- Develop clear, defensible technical deliverables including reports, calculations, and presentations
- Work directly with clients to define problems, align on approach, and communicate results
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of engineers and analysts
- Support proposal development and contribute to long term client relationships
- Apply sound engineering judgment to balance performance, safety, schedule, and cost
What you will bring
- 8+ years of experience in structural engineering, engineering mechanics, or a closely related technical field supporting complex or regulated projects
- Professional licensure preferred (PE, SE, or equivalent depending on background and scope)
- MS or PhD strongly preferred in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited program
- Depth in at least one technically rigorous area such as advanced analysis, seismic or extreme event engineering, structural dynamics, soil structure interaction, vibration, or mission critical structural systems
- Experience leading technically complex projects with responsibility for scope, quality, schedule, and budget
- Ability to work independently with senior level oversight rather than day to day direction
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly for technical reports and client facing work
- Interest in mentoring engineers and contributing to team development
- Commitment to high technical standards, QA/QC, and professional integrity
