They are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager - Geotechnical Engineering to lead high profile projects, manage multidisciplinary teams, and act as a trusted technical and client advisor. This role is ideal for a senior geotechnical professional who enjoys ownership of projects, mentoring others, and contributing to strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects from proposal through design and construction
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring technical and commercial expectations are met
- Oversee subsurface investigation programs, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and field coordination
- Review and approve geotechnical analyses, foundation recommendations, earthwork designs, and technical reports
- Provide senior level technical oversight and quality assurance across deliverables
- Coordinate closely with civil, structural, environmental, and construction teams on integrated projects
- Mentor and develop junior and mid- level engineers, supporting technical growth and performance
- Support business development activities, including proposal preparation and client presentations
- Assist with workload planning, resource allocation, and project financial performance
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 10+ years experience in geotechnical engineering within a consulting environment
- Strong background managing complex projects and client relationships
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and multiple concurrent projects
- Broad technical expertise in geotechnical investigation, analysis, and design
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commercially aware, organised, and capable of balancing technical and business priorities
- Collaborative, proactive leader with a commitment to quality and mentorship
